Internet Addiction among Today’s Society

We are now
living in the globalization era where internet is a really common thing and
even a need for some people that live in big and modern city. We all know that
internet is a media that can transfer information very rapidly, without any
limitation on who you are, how old, or on what social class you are. Internet
provides almost everything you want to know and what you want. News, games,
video streaming, televison live streaming, business, anything just on your
smartphone and laptop. Among those benefits of internet, of course, internet
also give bad influence to the society. One of them is internet addiction.
Is it bad to addicted to internet?
Well, any addiction is actually bad for you, so do the internet. The internet
addiction will makes us become a more individualist person, away from the ‘real
life’ society, become apathy to our surrounding. The scary thing is what if the
addiction attacks the young generations? Actually it is starting to happens in
our environtment. We often see elementary school kids already have tablets or
smartphone, have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The reason is
simple. Their parents don’t want their kid become “not cool enough in the
society.” Actually they just make their children an early internet addict of
the society. With this condition, the thing that we can do is a super-strict
control and supervison towards early aged kids that already exposed into
internet. We can’t expect what will they see in the internet, is it a hoax,
porn or another inappropriate things for children. At least, we can prevent or
slow down the process of our youth generation become more addicted to internet.
